One of Eagle Aviation's Dakotas took a new Bristol engine and airscrew to Lisbon on Feb 23rd. It was required by Aquila's Solent which had shed an airscrew in flight on a trip from Lisbon to Maderia.
Eagle reports that during January it completed 200hrs flying only two aircraft.
Last week Eagle announced that its fleet of three Viking aircraft which had been offered for general charter, was to be temporarily leased to Airwork, as we foreshadowed in this column on January 30th. Eagle said that it had found that it was impracticable to fit the Viking 1A into its pattern of operation, especially as the company had recently been intensifying the DC 3 activities.

blackbusheairport.proboards.com/The above address takes you to an excellent website that deals with every aspect of Blackbushe Airport. Blackbushe airport is where Eagle Airways operated in the 1950's. This is a new site and often has items about Eagle. Highly recommended by the Eagle Archivist.

We are pleased to have the forum back. This section is for any of the Australian immigrant families who flew with British Eagle and who would like to make contact with us. It is possible to supply photos of the British Eagle aircraft that you flew in. We have information that will allow us to investigate a large number of flights. Note this information does not include all flights but we are willing to research with what we have.
If you have a story about your journey to Australia then please send it to us on britisheagleint@aol.com or add it to this thread.
