British Eagle and Air Spain
For a time (approximately) between 1966 and 1968 there was a connection between British Eagle and Air Spain. British Eagle crews operated the Air Spain flights, perhaps in a crew training capacity - but I don’t know if the Britannia’s were leased from British Eagle or owned by Air Spain. Can anyone explain what the connection was? Thank you, Mary Gordon Warwick (ex Britannia Maintenance Planning/Tech Records)
Re: British Eagle and Air Spain
In answer to a question from Mary Gordon Warwick, Air Spain had two Aircraft from Eagle I am not sure if they were bought or leased the Regs were EC BFK and EC WFK. My father was seconded to Air Spain as a Ground Engineer, to help them with maintenance during 1967/68 they flew to Gran Canaria during the winter, and then into Majorca during the summer, I don’t know what happened to Air Spain after we left then in the middle of 1968. Does anyone know the Eagle Reg of EC BFK, I did have its full life history, as I have a large model of this aircraft in Air Spain Livery, and I do now it was scrapped at Biggin Hill. I hope this info is a come help. My father was George Blewett.
