British Eagle at Glasgow by KeMac Could anyone tell me why British Eagle used the old Terminal at Renfrew on their LHR trunk service rather than the new one? I have heard a story that BEA forced them in there. Alternate stories have said the Britannia was parked there most of the day so it made sense to park it on the old apron and another story says it was due to lack of space in the new terminal. Anyone have any ideas? Also was there a direct service to Newquay from Glasgow prior to 1966?Many Thanks Keith McC
Re: British Eagle at Glasgow by RED EAGLE The answer to the second question is yes. According to the Eagle timetables after British Eagle took over the Starways operation on the 1st Jan 1964 they continued the service between Newquay and Glasgow. Using Vickers Viscount aircraft to start with. First question will need time to check out. Watch this space.
